FAQ

Q: Are you really a country?

A: According to Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention on Rights and Duties of States, these are the criteria a country must meet to be a country: “The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined
territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.” Australis meets all of these requirements, so we can be defined as a country.

Q: Why create Australis?

A: We founded Australis to set an example to the world of a progressive, truly democratic nation. A secondary reason stems from the Western Australian secession movement, due to lack of representation in the Australian Federal government, despite the Eastern States using us for our resources.

Q: When was Australis founded?

A: Australis was founded on the 8th of April, 2020.

Q: What does the future hold for Australis?

A: In the future, we hope to establish a fully independent settlement and begin accepting citizens to live there. We also hope to achieve global recognition as a legitimate nation dedicated to improving the world.
